I use a roll screen in front of the lace curtains. It's made the living room look neater, and I don't have to wash the thick curtains I used to have, so it's become easier. My family and children all agree that it makes the room look bigger.

In our house, which has small windows, the sun shines in from the west, but we installed a roller blind instead of curtains. As a result, it looks good and blends in with the wall, and it blocks out the light, so it helps to keep the temperature down in summer, so I highly recommend it. It was easy to install, and I was able to do it by myself.
