The shelves are flat, not mesh, like those you often find in storage areas in front of bathrooms, so it's easy to wipe clean if dust builds up. I use it with a basket for washing clothes on the bottom shelf, a basket for towels on the middle shelf, and body cream and clothes for changing after a bath on the top shelf. It's good that it has castors so I can move it quickly when I'm cleaning the floor. It doesn't look like it would be suitable for heavy objects, but it didn't break even when my cat, who weighs over 5kg, jumped on it.
